TEAVILLA CAFE
HSR Layout, Bangalore | 6,000 square-foot restaurant & cafe

TeaVilla is a successful chain of Cafe-Restaurants, with many franchises in Mumbai. Source was approached to design the first TeaVilla Cafe in Bangalore, and at the time, the largest in the country. With each franchise free to develop their own aesthetic, the client gave us a free hand in developing a design language for their Cafe.

Uniquely, half the cafe was a double-height semi-open space, which we chose to enclose with a series of tall midnight-blue arches, which stand in contrast to the surrounding streetscape. The arches were articulated with matte-gold grills in diagonal patterns, which formed part of the interior language as well. The ceiling of the double-height space was decorated with an origami-like ceiling finished with a custom floral artwork.
